Grenache Blanc Bottling

Our 2018 Grenache Blanc was bottled three weeks ago. We are very pleased with the result. The grapes were the last of the vineyard to be harvested. Normally, white varietals are harvested first, and reds come later. But the 2018 harvest was one of the latest and longest and most difficult in recent history. Waiting weeks and weeks to reach sufficient brix, while at the same time, trying to pick the grapes before the acidity level fell to low, we were able to capture the grapes at the exact same acidity level as the 2016 harvest. After the Blanc was harvested, many other grapes were left to rot on the vines, never to achieve sufficient sugar levels for harvest.

After harvest, our GB was processed entirely in stainless steel. It was then cold fermented and cold stabilized. It was bottled in clear glass to showcase the beautiful straw color with a hint of green. While this wine will age well for up to five years, it is perfect to drink now. On the nose it starts with a hint of tropical fruit reminiscent of banana peel. The flavors of this subtle gem are typical of the varietal with some pineapple notes, green fruit and hints of gravelly earth.

We were so happy to produce this elegant Rhone varietal after the 2016 release sold out so quickly.
